Storytelling and the Hitaisho method

What importance should we put on storytelling as an education strategy for stage 1 students?

  • Would more time to focus on welcoming children to school help?
    • Would more even ratios of adult to children assist?
  • How does your school welcome new children to campus?
    • How do they learn the routines of the school/classroom/learning space?
    • How do they learn to respect and care for their learning environment?
  • Would simplifying the content/skills we require of young children make it easier for them to learn other important skills?
