Currently, about 70% of all teachers are women and only 30% of formal leadership positions are held by women. This course was created as part of IEU's International Women's Day celebrations to recognise the women leaders within our Union's membership but also to explore the causes of the disparity between participation in the workforce and leadership.
This course features IEU members who are in educational leadership positions in a variety of contexts. They were asked to talk about their leadership journeys and also to share what they had learned along the way with the hopes of inspiring other women to seek leadership positions in education.
The presenters include:
* Lyn Kirkby, A/Executive Director, Quality Teaching, NESA
* Sidonie Coffey, Principal, Holy Family Primary School
* Christine Cooper, Assistant Federal Secretary, IEU Australia
* Karen Frederick, Diversity Leader
* Pam Smith, Assistant Secretary, IEUA NSW/ACT Branch
* Susan Livingstone, Catholic Care Wollongong
This course is NESA Registered for 2 hours. For ACT TQI members it is a teacher identified PL activity.
