2017 - CBS Television Studios, Funny or Die and 3 Arts Entertainment for Netflix
This eight part mockumentary series is a true crime satire and was released in 2017 and is currently available on Netflix (at time of writing).
In 2018 the series earned a Peabody Award. The show explores the absurdity of applying serious investigative methods to trivial crimes.
The plot explores the fallout from the vandalism of teachers' cars in the Hanover High School staff parking lot. A series of dicks have been spray painted onto the teachers' cars and the crime pinned on one likely student who has a history of jackass style pranks. Peter and Sam, students at the high school, set out to make a documentary on the crime, investigating who committed the crime.
The purpose of the show is comedic entertainment, but there is a lot of truth in the issues it tackles to do with discipline, favouritism, pre-judging students and school administration procedures.
